Screen Tearing

I'm not a pro with it either, but I think its something to do with crazy frame changes or the refresh rate of the monitor being totally off from the frames.  You can fix it using V-sync, which I doubt your teacher has.  You could also try telling your teacher to get a better computer, if they have a peice of garbage, then thats why.  If not, I'm not sure.  My teachers used to try play movies in 4k with her i3 with HD graphics 3000.

Well, it's a new computer with an i5 processor and it was a DVD. They were using a projector, don't know if that matters.

maybe its just a crappy projector?  if they can play it fine without the projector, then I would say the projector is the problem.
