Is the 5600x really that much better than the 3600? Since I saw some people say that the difference is minimal while the price is 150% of the 3600.

For gaming, the difference is huge. For example in Valorant you can get 150+ FPS gains over the 3600 in some scenarios.

Also you have a 1700 budget, the 3600 would be really under powered for that.
