If there is still nothing at that point then I think you'll need to start swapping components to test.

i cleared cmos using the jbat1 shorting method first, didn't work. i then tried removing the cmos battery and that also didn't work. since i don't have any other components to swap things out with to see what is the problem and the cpu light is still on, i'm just going to send it somewhere to be looked at and hopefully fixed. thank you for your help though i appreciate it

hi, im pretty new, so sorry if i posted in the wrong area or if it's long. just a small disclaimer, i haven't put the usb drive into my PC just yet, and i don't have an optical drive to download drivers on. so, i just built my first PC, and it turns on just fine, but when i try to enter the bios, the monitor does not display anything. i then tried to press DEL, like my manual says, as well as several function keys, and nothing. i am unsure if something isn't wired correctly or what, but i tried to be very careful assembling everything. here are my specs, thank you:

Seems there is a hardware issue of some sort. Make sure you are plugging your monitor into your GPU and not motherboard, check all power connections, try reseating RAM, etc.

yeah i have the HDMI in the graphics card, so that was good. i reseated the RAM and still nothing, i also checked the power supply and im pretty sure everything is in fully, but here's a picture of one of the connections so you can judge if it is in fully or not, because im unsure:

all of them are now fully plugged into the psu, but i still don't have anything popping up on the monitor. should i check the cables on the motherboard?

Yes. Also try reseating RAM (as well as different configurations; one stick at a time, different slots, etc).

all the cables on the motherboard are fully on. i tried 2 sticks of ram dual-channel, so 16 gb, and nothing. it was the same deal with 1 stick single channel, which is 8 gb. what should i try next

Try clearing CMOS. There are various ways to do it, check your mobo manual, it'll say the fastest one.
