MSI GF65 Thin 144hz monitor but only limited on 60fps while gaming

So I bought this laptop, last Saturday. I was excited to play shooters and then I noticed it is only limited to 60hz in games even though it clearly says that the chosen refresh rate is 144hz. Same with CSGO. Please help.

have you looked into the nvidia control panel see if vsync is on and is stuck at 60hz there?  I just got a samsung g5 and did what you did and had to change it from my old 60hz to 165 in the control panel
