I am getting this issue while playing Battlefield 4, I attached the screen that comes up when I play for more than 5 min. My specs are:

  • CPU
    Intel i7 9700k @ 4.9Ghz
  • Motherboard
    Gigabyte Aorus Pro
  • RAM
    16GB G.Skill @3200MHz
  • GPU
    GTX 1080Ti Gaming Trio Edition
  • Case
    Cooler Master Mid Tower
  • Storage
    500GB Samsung 970 Evo Plus 1TB Samsung 850 Evo
  • PSU
    EVGA 1000W Gold Edition
  • Display(s)
    2 Dell S2417DG
  • Cooling
    Noctua NH-D15

I recently re-pasted my GPU because of idle temperatures reaching up to 50C and under load it was getting up to 90C and then clocking down, affecting performance. I've also been freezing in WoW Classic as of late too.

Try DDU software to uninstall drivers and reinstall driver for your GPU, might work or might not.

Although make sure you get the right program to do so.

Freezing in classic wow? okey maybe it's something else or bad contact for the GPU cooling. Repasting things for the GPU cooler can be a mess to deal with, and 90C does sound high. Mine reach 80C sorta max, and had it for quite a while without repasting.

I've been monitoring temps with EVGA X1, temps are only reaching around 80C now and I made sure that the contact was tight when I reconnected the GPU cooler, I will try using DDU and update you with how it works, thank you.
