Replace my DeathStalker

joemomma22

So i have a brand new death stalker, i like everything about it except the wristrest.the wrist rest that is built onto it, and not detatchable is very hard, and also has sharp edges on it. so if theres a feasable way to fix this i will do that, if not help me replace my keyboard. what are your recommendations? I like the chicklet style because ive been gaming on a laptop for the past 2 years, until now, but i would have no problem trying out mechanical. I play games, so certain gaming optimizations would be cool, but mostly just needs to gave green or white backlighting to match the naga, and case lighting haha xP

What he^ said..

Try mechanical such as the Corsair K70. You just have to wait for the RGB backlighting so that you can get your Green backlight.

ooor follow what most LTT people will say. "Get a Ducky"

Get a Ducky.

Get two Duckys.

Honestly though, the K70 is great but if you're looking for white/green backlights you'd have to go Ducky. White is more common, you'd find it in Gygabites too: http://www.amazon.com/Gigabyte-Mechanical-Keyboard-GK-OSMIUM-BRN/dp/B00CNR1GUQ/

But I can't think of options with green besides Ducky. I've seen the CoolerMaster ones in their site but not in any retailer's.

I believe the Zero Shine comes in white, not totally sure about green. Otherwise, I'm certain the Ducky Shine 3 comes in green.

My Shine 2 has green backlighting.

Pretty much any Ducky keyboard is excellent, so it comes down to what features you want. Personally, I'd go for the Shine 3 as I love that backlighting. You should see the video on the LTT Youtube channel.

Edit: Here is a link to the video:

Also, if buying a Ducky Shine, be sure to also buy the wrist rest as it's really comfortable.

i just came back to this post after watching the video to see that you put it in as an edit haha. thanks, already watched it xP... shine 3 is a bit expensive. i mean i know its offering a lot, but the deathstalker was only $60. I'm not saying price is necessarily and issue though because it isnt

The Ducky Zero is a cheaper alternative, but like others have stated, the Corsair keyboards are also great.

thinking of possibly going k70... the question is, blue or brown.. hmmm.

Exactly what he said.

I have a Corsair K70.. it's absolutely great. I Spilled beer on it, cleaned it up and it's still going strong.

As for the Ducky, they're great keyboards. Recommend them as well, Also CoolerMaster make great mechanical boards too.

If you're a gamer, I recommend the Reds.. it's what i use and i absolutely love them.

Although in saying that, i've never extensively used a Blue or Brown.

ive never used any, but reds seems like they wouldnt feel too much different from rubber dome. from the descriptions ive heard, they sound quite squishy.

EDIT: not for nothing, but the k70, ducky 0, and ducky shine 3 are out of stock pretty much anywhere

If a keyboard is >40$ and not mechanical, dont buy it..

Unless, you have tried ALL switches, including the "rare" ones like buckling springs, and still think rubber domes/scissor switches are better..
