Hey so I wasn't really sure where to post this, but this seemed like the best category to. Lately, my pc has been acting up. GTA V gets artifacting, and some of my other games just wont launch all together. I got some new RAM not too long ago, butthis issue didn't start until a while after the new RAM, so I know that's not the issue. Here's a screenshot of what happens when I try and launch Rainbow 6 Siege or Fortnite. If you know how I can fix this or if something may be damagesd, please let me know.

Even if this issue started appearing some time after you installed new RAM, I think it's related, as it is a memory error. Would you be open to reinstalling Windows?

Main PC:

AMD Ryzen 7 5800X • Noctua NH-D15 • MSI MAG B550 Tomahawk • 2x8GB G.skill Trident Z Neo 3600MHz CL16 • MSI VENTUS 3X GeForce RTX 3070 OC • Samsung 970 Evo 1TB • Samsung 860 Evo 1TB • Cosair iCUE 465X RGB • Corsair RMx 750W (White)

Peripherals/Other:

ASUS VG27AQ • G PRO K/DA • G502 Hero K/DA • G733 K/DA • G840 K/DA • Oculus Quest 2 • Nintendo Switch (Rev. 2)

Laptop (Dell XPS 13):

Intel Core i7-1195G7 • Intel Iris Xe Graphics • 16GB LPDDR4x 4267MHz • 512GB M.2 PCIe NVMe SSD • 13.4" OLED 3.5K InfinityEdge Display (3456x2160, 400nit, touch).

Got any questions about my system or peripherals? Feel free to tag me (@bellabichon) and I'll be happy to give you my two cents.

PSA: Posting a PCPartPicker list with no explanation isn't helpful for first-time builders :)

If you're doing a fresh re-install, yes. But if you're just resetting the PC from Windows settings, it'll only touch the operating system files. I'd try resetting first, and you can always do a fresh install if that doesn't work.

All right, would it be worth changing the RAM back out for the old RAM that was in their before I got this new kit?

It can't hurt. If you do that and everything suddenly starts working fine, you'll confirm it's a RAM issue.

I did that, everything started working fine. Probably gonna send the kit back and get a new one. Glad to know it was just the RAM but its just kinda a pain.

I definitely feel that. RAM compatibility is pretty hit-or-miss, even in 2020. If you're planning to buy another kit after this, you can try to make sure it's one on the QVL (qualified vendor list) recommended by your motherboard manufacturer.
