Budget (including currency): $2000

Country: The Netherlands

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: League of legends, Telltale games, GTA 5

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc):

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/yPDQW3 So this is my pc part picker list, and I was wondering if anyone has maybe some tips or things I should change. Like do I go an AMD or intel cpu I've heard and seen on jtc and ltt that the new I5-11600k is good but should I go AMD anyways?

Intel and AMD are both fine in the 6-core range. The Ryzen 5 5600X will be the best, with the i5-11600K behind. The Ryzen 5 5600G (coming in August) will probably sit between the 11600K and non-K variant.

From looking at the other parts of the system, I would suggest going Intel, since Intel currently has CPUs with iGPUs and it will be a better balance with the Intel CPU than the AMD one. I would maybe suggest going with a i5-11500 or in that range, depending on the price.

The cooler can easily be swapped to a NH-U12S Redux for a cheaper cooler that performs almost identically in normal load. Case feels somewhat overkill and I would maybe go with two 1TB drives, one high reliability and one cheaper one, such as an A2000 or 660p. Power supply could also be downgraded.

Could you provide your budget in euros? Also, where will you buy your GPU, and if online, can you wait for an Ampere or RDNA2 GPU?

You can literally save 80$ on your Windows Home Key and in 20$ you can buy Pro Key from 3rd party websites.

If you are going all out, then why 860 Evo? you could buy 970 Evo or Pro instead.

AMD is the better option, because if you want to do editing or some heavy stuff, then you know; that you have got the hardware to run it efficiently.

But its your choice.

I choose the case cause i liked it and i keep hearing cooling is important, which case would you suggest? What is the reason I should go with 2 1tb drives instead of 1 2tb drive? My budget in euro's was 2000 but this pc would cost me about 1800 euro's and I dont think i need to spend more. The gpu is from a friend of mine who got a 3080 (i dont now how)

This will be my first desktop which ill build myself, i am not sure where i would buy third party windows which is reliable.
I'm not trying to go all out, but would the extra price be worth it for the 970 or pro?
I'll probably not do editing but if i would which amd in this price range should Igo for?

Ryzen 5900x    USD 550

The extra speed will be worth it.

And if you buy 2x 1TB drives, then OS will be installed on one drive and the other will be used for work, so the process will be fast. IMO

Samsung M.2 SSD are fast, and have very large writing capacity and have a long life.

970 Pro is approximately 30 percent faster than the previous generation. i.e. 860

980 PRO is the fasted and the highest performing from the bunch of almost all SSD's. It delivers read speeds up to 7,000 MB/s, making it 2 times faster than PCIe 3.0 SSDs and 12.7 times faster than SATA SSDs.

But again if you have the cash for it, then go for it. Otherwise save the cash and buy a slow speed m.2 drive.

IMO, Go for Samsung 970Pro 512GB for OS and 860Pro 2TB or more for Storage and work usage. Or you could get SATA SSD, if your games doesn't need that much speed.

Go and check this:- SSD game loading test: fastest Samsung 970pro vs OLD SATA SSD vs HDD - YouTube

And then decide whether m.2 is good or SATA SSD is enough.

But then again, it comes to personal preference.

So go for the one, which suits your work the best.
