This is my first PC build on my own and I have the feeling I did something wrong...?

 

This is what I have so far:

CPU: i9-10850K

CPU Cooler: ARCTIC Liquid Freezer II 240

Motherboard: MSI MPG Z490 GAMING PLUS ATX LGA1200

RAM: G.Skill Ripjaws V 64 GB (2 x 32 GB) DDR4-3600 CL18

SSD: Western Digital Blue 2 TB M.2-2280

GPU: 3090 Founders

Case: Phanteks Enthoo Pro Tempered Glass ATX Full Tower Case

PSU: Corsair RM (2019) 850 W 80+ Gold  (Modular)

Way too little wattage for a 3090 honestly. Bump up to 850 or 1000, and avoid seasonic until further notice as they do have teething issues with their OCP on 3080s and 3090s. My pick would be RM series from corsair, but there's a lot of good picks at this wattage range as long as you dont go mad cheap out.

 

Also, you can get 5900X at that price range.

If you already have this build, it's fine. Nvidia suggests a 750W psu for RTX 3090 with i9-10900K. So unless you plan to overclock the cpu or gpu the system is well within spec. 

 

If you haven't bought the system then I'd suggest ddr4-3200 CL16 or ddr4-3000 CL15 memory; an arctic liquid freezer ii aio, and a faster NVMe drive something like a Samsung 970 variant.

 

 

80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.
