I upgraded my router to a Wifi6 router recently. This one seemed to run cooler than my previous ones thanks to it's all "mesh" design. However I was having some weird issues while using my steam link, or while doing extended long data transfers. So like all my previous routers, active cooling was the answer.

I figured they shouldn't get hot, but I went ahead thermal epoxied some heat sinks to Ethernet transformers across the back.

This actually started 4 years ago, several routers and cable modems ago. Older pictures here. Funny, Linus actually came up in that Jeep forum thread. The cable modems have always been the most noticeable change, as I don't get the slow downs on long Steam downloads after adding the fans.
