Tried searching for a single thread marked, "Hi" or "introductions" or something similar on this sub-thread, but there didn't appear to be one. So I figured I'd just follow suit of everyone else who have done so here and started a new one for lil' ol insignificant me, to say...Hi!

--------!Begin TL;DR-------

Been around tech my whole life...never went to school for it, but connected with and circled around friends who were techy enough and taught me a lot and even gifted me with an opportunity to work at an upcycling computer shop for a couple of years, here on the more Western end of our beloved #Canada. Much more to the story, but after a small break after college and some soul-searching back in 2015 (and a major medical wetware malfunction that tore me away from hard labour in 2018), I've maintained connection with some awesome new techy peeps in my new stomping grounds and safely rebooted my skills in IT, 100% rogue-style.

Back in the Linux game thanks to those badass peeps (for real this time, without any prior fears in my way) and safely multi-platformed once again (one of the first systems I was ever introduced to in early school, was an Apple 2e, as well as the Commodore 64, among others of that era…and yes, including a home system I had no control over acquiring, that had Windows 3.1 on it. *lets that sink in*). Still a hardware junkie, still hope to do something great with all that I've learned...and continue to learn, onwards.

--------!End TL;DR-------

Thank you so much for being here and doing your videos, Linus (Sebastian?) and team (not sure if the Wikipedia entry needs to be fixed or not -- so sorry if I didn't get the memo!!). You are all a great inspiration for me to keep going and pushing forward for knowledge sharing and technomancing onwards, as we continue to cross the uncanny valley of our future AI overlords. 🙂

Wishing you all good health, happiness and safe journeys onwards and looking forward to keeping in touch with anyone who would like to say "hello" and have a chat about tech or geeky/nerdy anything here, sometime.

B-) ,\m/
