EGPU without external display???

Is it possible to feed to signal from an external GPU back in to your laptop so as to avoid using an external monitor? I want to be able to play Mass Effect Legendary but still have the setup be somewhat portable.

 

Edit: I have seen some solutions on Amazon that evolve opening up the laptop and pluging in a Mini PCI from the dock to the laptop, is this the only way without thunderbolt. I am willing to mod but would prefer not to.

AFAIR it is only possible with Thunderbolt devices that supports eGPUs. Its not possible with mPCIE egpu solutions.
