You can pair the 8gb stick with the 4GB stick.Im pretty sure it will run in flex mode,meaning 8gb of ram will work full speed but when you consume past 8 GB it will slow down to singlechannel for those remaining 4GB of ram available.
TL:DR it will be fine.
