Windows defender not working.

Hi,

Ive been trying to download some apps and my pc now just crashes them and removes the files. I recently downloaded norton antivirus but got rid of it as i didnt want it. My windows antivirus has now gone and i dont know how to get it back. Any advice on getting it back? Thanks image.png.e81b3a91d821fa7eb06104d2c346c8b1.png

You likely ran some malware that wrecked Defender in order to protect itself.

If nothing works...nuke it from orbit.  It's the only way to be sure.

Sorry...Aliens reference.  Basically, flat reinstall the OS.  Or try a repair.  If it's not malware, you could just tell Windows to try and repair itself.

 

Since it says the AV is managed by your organization, is this a corporate laptop?  That kind of message says that some form of security policy is in place to manage those settings...either placed by whomever manages your organization and Windows AD, or something set by a software bad actor to prevent you from touching it.

went into my register and changed some things to false and ive got this now but i cannot do a scan and my virus and threat proetion settings are all off and i cant turn them on
