BIOS update.

Go to solution Solved by Guest,

No, a B550 will support the chip from the box.

To overcome some bugs with Ryzen 5000 chips, it is recommended to update the bios.

I am building my first pc and wanted to get a B550 board with a ryzen5600x but keep seeing thag i may have to update my BIOS. I Don't have an older cpu to update the bios so i was wondering if there is a workaround for this.

Ok thank you. So the update is just for bugs and things but it will boot out if box. That clears things up.
