Network storage, Steam, Disk Write Errors, and more.

Good afternoon, 

So i have a problem. This appears to be a complex one but could be very simple so apologize in advance if i am just placing needless information here.

The setup
 I have two pc's. First is a new PC with an AMD Ryzen 5800x, RTX 2700, Asus ROG Strix x570-E Gaming Motherboard. This is my primary PC and while it has some quirks it works/runs pretty well. My second is my older PC Intel I7 4077k Asus Motherboard. This is my Server. I am running windows and using storage spaces to have 3 pools, The pool that i am going to be referring to here is the 4 HDD drives (normal not NAS) set in Parity. I set this because the read speeds are really good for mechanical and once its set up is should not have to write to much to it except for updates. I have a net gear Gigabit 5 port switch between them, and the switch is hooked up to my router/modem combo. 

The details. 
On my primary pc i have steam installed. I have the drive pool in my secondary PC. I will boot up steam and select install a game, and set the steam download directory to my network drive. This seems to work fine for.... the first little bit. However almost with out fail it will get a "disk write error" usually around the 1-2 gig mark. then require me to update or push the game to down load again. Do this enough and all drives connecting to my second pc will become unavailable. I have done some trouble shooting. I have run a ping test to google to see if its my internet, and i learned that while i am not downloading using steam the ping is fine. Some drops here and there but over all just fine. When steam is downloading however it will drop ever 2-5 lines sometimes for multiple lines in a row. This happens on both PC's when one is using steam. It does not happen during a normal download or during game use. only with steam. I have been able to transfer a game using "move install folder" on games moving from the drive, works no problem. However transferring To the drive seems work, but takes significantly longer than it should. I have the program multiplicity by stardock to control my second pc using my first. It appears that the program looses connection at times while its being hit with a download. 

What i think i know
I don't know what exactly the issue is what i think i know what it is not at least. I think i can rule out the drive pools being the issue as this has been in use before for the last month and wasn't an issue. I have a second drive pool set up that i transfer files to manually and it has no issues when transferring. Even the game pool has no issues when transferring files directly to it, it may take time but it does not disconnect. The internet itself is perfectly normal and i can download files normally when installing locally. So that is not likely the issue i think. My new motherboard built in 2.5 gig ethernet is overkill for the 1 gig switch but it should be fine. And my old pc motherboard has never had issues with ethernet, still doesn't.

My hypothesis
The only thing i can think of is if it has something to do with how steam expects a drive to "read/write" maybe it is expecting the drive to write faster than it is? but that does not explain the huge hit to the downloads i get when steam is downloading nor how i can transfer a game with little issue FROM the network drive, but transferring TO the drive is an issue. So could it be steam and the drive pool dont play nicely in parity mode? Is it some setting i am just not seeing or noticing? It Could be the switch? but that works fine, maybe my older PC's ethernet card? ... i am unfortunately lost. 

My plea
So i come to the only place i can think of to ask for advice/help. Been watching Linus a long time and am hoping to get some advice, a direction, a series of tests. While i can probably work around this issue in a few ways i would really like to figure out a solution that allows me to simply use the pool over the network like a normal drive.
