Intel Celeron 430 upgrade!

Greetings!

I found this old old pc by the dumbster and I put linux mint on it and it does work. I know it's worthless but for some reason i want to thinker with it. I would like to upgrade the Intel Celeron 430 that it has now for a something with 2 cores. Something like a Intel Core 2 Duo E6750. Is there something more I need to look at except that it's a LGA775 socket? If so what are the things I need to look at? 

System specs:

Intel DG31PR motherboard

2GB ddr2 RAM

150gB hdd

400w PSU

Intel celeron 430

Being G31 based you can whack just about any Core 2 CPU in it.

Couldn't it also support a few core 2 quad cpu's like the q6600 and q6700. I think one of those 2 cpu's might be the better choice than a core 2 duo.
