Hi everyone i recently bought a secondhand motherboard from someone an ASUS STRIX x570 and i took it to my local microcenter to test bench it and once we got everything in place we couldnt get it to post all we ever got was the error code 04.  Any ideas whats going on or what i can do to fix it?

Tell him to try the 2000 series instead, something like a 2200G. Some X570 board doesnt have any form of support for the 1st gen Ryzen.

It should support it out of the box if its not a dead bios chip or bad bios profile (the former you need to RMA, the latter you can fix by resetting CMOS by shorting the CMOS_RESET Jumper or taking off the CMOS battery)

Point stands. I've never seen an Asus X570 board that supports Summit Ridge. Check QVL.
