Urgent LAN help!

PanicThePaladin

Hello, I recently just built a new PC and have gotten through the process of installing windows 10 onto it. I'm trying to get on the internet now but it won't even load the page when I try opening up internet explorer for instance. It shows that I'm connected when I have the ethernet cable plugged in, however the data usage in the network panel shows 0mbs. My motherboard is a Asus Crosshair VII Hero with a 5900x CPU. I'm also using an netgear ethernet adapter which had no problem before in my previous PC before this new build. I've restarted my internet, Ive tried downloading new LAN drives onto a USB, and I've tried both the 2.5 gig port and the 1 gig port on the I/O panel. I can't download any drives from the internet because it wont load. PLEASE HELP AND THANKS!

(also both ports are enabled in BIOS)

Have you tried the netgear ethernet adapter in another computer/slot?

Yes. I've tried both slots on this new PC with no difference. I've used it just two days ago on my old computer and that worked like normal.
