Continuing issues with RDP

Hi all,

 

Having an issue I'm hoping someone can help me with.

 

I have a standalone, headless PC I use for Plex.  When I first set it up, I created an RPD icon that I double click to connect to it.  After a windows update a while back, I suddenly started getting an error mssg "This computer can't connect to the remote computer.  Try connecting again.  If the problem continues bla bla bla...."  

 

On another forum I visit, someone suggested I unselect the option "Require computers to use Network Level Authentication to connect" in remoted desktop settings and that did the trick.  It's a local computer with no access outside my LAN so I wasn't too worried about it.  

 

Then another windows update comes along and bam, back into the same issue and I have absolutely no idea what to try next.

 

I've ruled out firewalls on the PC, same issue.  I've disabled bitdefender, no love.

 

I'm using 100% Ubiquiti hardware, all switches and routers (USG) firmware up to date.
