Hello guys,

im going to build a new case and i will buy lots of new parts to fill it up ..

parts im going to buy :

Intel 4770k , Asus poseidon gtx780 , Asus Maximus VI Formula , Corsair AX860i ,Corsair Vengeance pro red 4x4 (16GB) ,WD Caviar Black 1TB

and also im going to add my notebooks Agility 3 120 GB ssd to this system.

here is my question based on these parts:

im planning to watercool my cpu gpu and motherboard

so i need to go with custom parts for this one ..

im going to use FrozenQ PC Mods 250mm Fusion V Series reservoir,

still trying to decide about the pump, (need advice as well )

main question : do you think just 1 3x120mm 30mm thick radiator would be enough for cooling ?

most builds i've encountered were using 1 3x120 and 1 2x120 so im bit confused ..

im going to have enough space for just one 3x120 or maybe just maybe for a quad ..

so whats your advice for me ?

thanks for the help .

Hi,

Gpus dont run so hot under water so allmost all heat comes from CPU, but haswell aint couldest thing on earth, so i would bet its cutting the edge on that slim rad.

I would take thicker rad, then fans on bothside the rad for looks if thats in your maind.

A 360 rad should be fine. I would look into getting a reference 780 and getting a full cover block. The poseidon is meant to give people the option of watercooling eventually. If you are making a custom loop right away then there isn't much of a point. The performance of a separate full cover block will be better than the hybrid cooler.

Personally i would get a regular EVGA 780 and a EK waterblock, a alphacool nexXxos ut60 (thinner if you can't fit a 60mm thick) 360mm rad, and any variant of the Lang D5 or DDC pump.

Well there is point to go poseidon. Mainly because warranty. and if you look results Those temps arent too high are they? ...~30C on load??

Even i am thinking buying one as all ~6 last cards has shown sings of dieing in 2 years of use before replacement. They just dont make them like they use to with 10 year warranty and all.
