first of all sorry if this goes too long, and thanks for reading it!

I just upgraded my age old pc from an intel 4th gen to:

Processor: Ryzen 5 5600x
RAM: HyperX 16GB 3200
Motherboard: Asus TUF Gaming B550 PLUS
GPU: GTX 970 (the only part that carried over along with the storage)

I did the usual: updating the bios, clean installing windows, I even formatted the entire hdd just in case, updated all the drivers to the latest and windows. This PC was going to be my streaming/gaming pc and it worked fine. I streamed valorant with upwards of 300fps with 0 problems but I shut down the pc and got up today just to find that my fps in Valorant have dropped to mid 100-s when Im not even streaming and the total frame time has climbed from 2ms to 8ms... I am at my wit's end as I have changed nothing and all I did was watch some streams. I wonder if anyone has had the same problem or knows what might have caused this. Any help would be appreciated!
