Hey everyone!

I have a question regarding a potential CPU upgrade in my system. With my specs posted above, I'm wondering if it would be worth upgrading my CPU to a R7 5800X? With my 2060 and my slower RAM (I've had this RAM since first gen Ryzen came out), would it even make much of a difference in terms of general gaming and productivity performance? Should I upgrade my RAM anyway? Let me know what you think 😄

I would say upgrade the ram and keep the 2600 with the 2060, i think that a great combination

An update for those curious. My friend's building a PC and I'm doing the building for him, so he's shipped the parts one at a time to my house. As I get them, he's letting me test them in my own rig so I can see what benefits I would get while upgrading.

What I've found have been staggering improvements in performance going from the 2600 to a 5600X, with the same 2400MHz RAM — gains upwards of 40-60 fps increases in GTA V and Far Cry 5. Is there something wrong with my 2600, or are these results to be expected?
