Help, gaming laptop docking

Hey people,

 

My girlfriend bought a budget gaming laptop not too long ago. ( HP - Pavilion 15.6", model: 15-EC1073DX). I was just able to get a second monitor for her for cheap but the laptop only has 1 hdmi port and no thunderbolt port just a usb-c 3.0. Anyone have any suggestions on a dock or other solution? I was able to also get a dell docking station for cheap as well but didn't know her laptop didn't have thunderbolt at the time.

 

ps. I know there are docks that will use usb 3.0 but what i've been able to find only allows for monitors up to 60hz. Her current monitor can go up to 144hz and I don't want to bottle neck that monitor.

Have you checked to see if the USB-C port is also a Display Port? Its not uncommon for laptops to also include Display Port with there USB C ports.
