Thank you so much for your fast response

My only concern is the power supply so I will have a look into some maybe more reliable ones at a higher price

Other than that, going Intel is probably a good idea so I will keep that in mind

Thanks for the faster ssd too and keeping it at a similar price

yeah, if you need a decent cheap power supply I would go for this one https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/product/3hkwrH/corsair-power-supply-cp9020102na

Budget (including currency): £700 ($960.83)

Country: United Kingdom

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Minecraft, Planet Coaster, FL Studio, War Thunder, Need For Speed, etc. Also will be used for VR if I manage to get my hands on a headset.

Other details: I am upgrading from an old Intel Pentium HP laptop which has no real graphics card and 4gb of RAM. If possible I would like to go down from what I have in the list in price while still maintaining a PC at this sort of decency but if it's not possible then this sort of price will do. I'm still pretty new to tech. I have the basic understanding but if you could be extra clear then that would be appreciated. I am not looking to buy in the next couple of months. I would just like to get an idea of what to get first. I would like to run most games at at least 60 fps. I haven't checked user benchmark yet so I don't know what sort of fps it will have but that will influence the monitor I will be getting (whether it is 70 hertz or 144).

Your motherboard is very weak compared to the rest of your system. Also, assuming you don’t have a spare graphics card, intel would be better value.

If you have a little extra budget I would allocate it to the power supply. Also got you a faster NVME SSD

i might just do that

thanks again for your help

If you are getting your graphics card right now though, you are probably better off going AMD. The whole intel value proposition is that you are waiting for msrp, so if you don’t wait you are better off getting a 3600
