so I got a gift for christmas and it was a lenovo-ideacentre a340 - the person who gifted me this knows nothing about computers so when he went to bestbuy to find a computer he was told this was capable of and i quote HIGH SPEC GAMING

so anyways i was wondering if it would be possible to put a small but decent graphics card into this potato thanks

An an all-in-one? Not really

According to google this is a AiO computer - and one without any viable external connectivity for a GPU - so no.

 

As an AiO, it looks like it usually has reasonable specs for a decent office work/internet machine, and it will play a whole bunch of (quite) old and non-demanding games.
