Running certain programs disconnects my internet

First off I'm really not sure if I'm supposed to be posting this here or in like 'programs, apps, and websites', so pls let me know if this is the wrong place and I'll try and amend that.

I've recently tried to stared playing Minecraft again so I could explore the new snapshot with some friends, but after the first day or two of playing (in which I could play the game fine) the game completely kills my internet. As soon as the game title screen pops up my internet starts freaking out, and within a few mins it goes from 'Connected, secured', to 'No internet, secured', to just straight up disconnecting. Whenever this happens I have to turn my WiFi off and on again to get it to work. The weirdest part of all this is that I don't even have to be on a server or anything, as soon as the title screen pops up my internet gets yeeted to oblivion.

Another weird part about this is that for the first 1-2 days I could play the game just fine, then on day 3-4 I would get booted from any server within a few mins for one reason or another, and from the 5th day onward it's been as it is now, instantly killing my internet. At first I thought this was a problem with Minecraft (as this doesn't happen with any of the other dozens of games I do/have played) so I posted on the MC forum (to no avail), and the more I look into this I think it might be some sort of driver issue on my network adapter. The game used to spit out some random error code but after trying most, if not all, of the fixed that seemed to work for other ppl with the same MC error code my game still doesn't work.

I've also already power-cycled my router, deleted and reinstalled the game, tried different versions of the game, run the game with admin access, deleted and reinstalled the latest drivers for my network adapter and I've also tried disabling the windows defender firewall.

Even though I've reinstalled my network adapter drivers (and made sure they're up to date), I'm still pretty sure all my problems stem from a driver issue. The reason I think this is that when I first installed my network adapter I had a few somewhat similar driver issues with it. I'm using a 'D-Link DWA 582 AC1200 Wifi PCIE' network adapter, and as far as I can tell buying this thing was a bad choice. I found one Reddit post that says that the "up to date" drivers on the D-link website are actually not at all up to date and rather problematic. Here's the post for anyone interested:

I tried following the steps in the Reddit post but the download link provided seems to not work, so I instead went straight to the Realtek website and installed the latest drivers for the chip that the post claims is in my adapter. I disabled my D-link drivers and autoran the Realtek drivers on my system (tbh I'm not even sure if that was what I was supposed to do), but that just straight up didn't work and I had to re-download the D-link drivers for like the 5th time.

I also can't easily try a wired connection or anything like that as my router on the floor directly below where my PC is, and moving my PC would be an absolute nightmare because of my horrendously inefficient jerry-rigged 5.1 audio system, although if any of you think that trying a wired connection actually has a real chance of diagnosing the problem then please let me know and I'll put aside a weekend day to do so. I'm also definitely not opposed to trying out any programs that could monitor my connection or whatever, I'm just not sure whats legit and safe so any recommendations would go a really long way.

This problem is hella frustrating and any help or advice would be greatly appreciated, also sorry for the super long post and all

Thanks all
