Pulled an R9 270X out of storage to give to a friend. It's a Sapphire Toxic model. The problem with this card is that it crashes halfway through driver installation. I've tried flashing the BIOS to a newer version on TechPowerUp, used DDU a few times to clean out the old drivers, tried old drivers from 2014, 2016, and 2018, tried Pro drivers, all to no effect. What would happen is I would install the driver, halfway through it would crash, the PC would restart, and freeze while windows was loading. Then it would blackscreen for a second, flash the last frame again, and restart.

I then tried Ubuntu, but installing the drivers immediately caused a crash.
