EVGA post code C

[Piecake]

I found my PC unable to post and displaying error code "C". Some quick google searches suggests that this means it's a CPU related issue. I'll describe some of the troubleshooting steps I've attempted so far.

 

Removed CPU to inspect board for bent pins, all pins were fine. 

Slowly unscrewed CPU cooler. Others have had the same error code resolved by slowly untightening their overtightened CPU cooler so I tried the same. Didn't work.

Replaced 8 pin power cable. I came across this and tried reseating and then replacing the 8 pin CPU power connector, as it came with a spare. Also didn't work.

When completely removing the 8 pin power connector, the same error is shown. Does this mean the issue is related to the power supply?

EVGA Z370 FTW

EVGA 750W G3

GIGABYTE 1080 ti aorus windforce

2x8GB Corsair Vengeance RGB DDR4 3000

I recommend buying a cheap power supply and testing that EPS plug. If all else fails, it's likely a board issue.
