HEY! So, today I had this client today who was asking me to get him a gaming laptop HP or Alienware Dell, I recommend him a few models and came up with this one which fairly i think is just fine 🤔

https://www.hp.com/us-en/shop/pdp/omen-laptop-15t-ek100-28n35av-1

budget- nothing more than 1200$ usd:

came up with these problems:

waiting period: 2 to 3  weeks (My client is leaving the country and wont be here another year)

to little ram, just expanding the 2 x 4 GB to a 2 x 8 GB cost around 160$ (overcoming my customer budget)

The graphic card: He won't really need that rtx 3060 i think a 1660Ti might be just fine, but models with a 1660Ti can get unnecessarily expensive

Even tho ssd is far greater than hdd, just having too little, migth bring problems, such as having to delete things constantly.

Summing up the specs:

Intel i7 7th-10th gen

2 x 8 GB RAM

1 TB HDD + 128-256 GB SDD

Gtx 1660 Ti

Exclusively this brands: Dell / HP

I notice that on most stores all this gaming laptop deals will not show up when looking for 'em, that you'd have to necessarily contact with their sales dpt, or know a guy that knows a guy, or have the specific link whatever, i need some help!

For a start try not arbitrarily restricting yourself to HP and Dell. For example, I had a quick dig around online and found exactly what you are looking for, but from MSI.

You could always try emailing places and asking if they have anything in stock which isn't displayed on the website, though I doubt that.

Thanks for reading all this by the way!

By the way, my desktop is a docked laptop. Get over it, No seriously, I have an exterrnal monitor, keyboard, mouse, headset, ethernet and cooling fans all connected. Using it feels no different to a desktop, it works for several hours if the power goes out, and disconnecting just a few cables gives me something I can take on the go. There's enough power for all games I play and it even copes with basic (and some not-so-basic) video editing. Give it a go - you might just love it.

I know right? that's the thing my client is of those who just trust computers by their brand manufacturer, it wouldn't be that nice of me to force him to buy something he doesn't feel confidence with. I know he will find something that bothers him so he can tell me "I told ya to get me the HP/DELL brand" like trying to run anything that the laptop is not made for haha. If I give him an HP/DELL laptop, the blame is on him well, not really, cuz of his small budget and huge expectives.

Hmmm... well I must say, Dell and HP don't really have the best reputation themselves.

Sadly if you want a laptop with a a lead time of less than a few weeks, you have to buy it through a reseller of some kind, and it's just not practical for resellers to keep in stock every configuration from every manufacturer. This means that if you have very specific requirements you won't find something perfect.

Being from outside the US myself, I don't know exactly what retailers you have access to, but if you can't find anything by going on their websites and filtering by all of the specs you have chosen, I think it's unlikely you'll be able to find what you're looking for in the required timescale.
