Budget (including currency): £2400 GBP

Country: UK

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: FPS / GTA V / Shadow of the Tombraider etc. Some Video and Photo editing.

Other details Ideally would like to play at 4K with V. High Specs but will drop resolution for Quality and Frame Rate.  Monitor = https://www.benq.eu/en-uk/monitor/gaming/el2870u.html,

You were very kind to assist me earlier with a potential upgrade / newbuild and as I suspected I need a new build.  I have managed to improve the budget, so have upped the Specs to the following

Case - COOLERMASTER MASTERCASE SL600M GAMING CASE
Processor (CPU) - AMD Ryzen 7 5800X Eight Core CPU (3.8GHz-4.7GHz/36MB CACHE/AM4)
Motherboard - ASUS® TUF X570-PLUS GAMING (USB 3.2 Gen 2, PCIe 4.0, CrossFireX) - ARGB Ready!+Absolutely
Memory (RAM) - 32GB Corsair VENGEANCE DDR4 3600MHz (2 x 16GB)
Graphics Card - 8GB NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3070 - HDMI, DP (Pre-Order Only)
1st M.2 SSD Drive - 500GB SAMSUNG 970 EVO PLUS M.2, PCIe NVMe (up to 3500MB/R, 3200MB/W)
2nd M.2 SSD Drive - 2TB CORSAIR MP400 NVMe PCIe M.2 SSD (up to 3480 MB/R, 3000 MB/W)
Power Supply - CORSAIR 850W RMx SERIES™ MODULAR 80 PLUS® GOLD, ULTRA QUIET
Processor Cooling - Corsair H115i ELITE CAPELLIX RGB Hydro Series High Performance CPU Cooler
Sound Card - ONBOARD 6 CHANNEL (5.1) HIGH DEF AUDIO (AS STANDARD)
Network Card - 10/100/1000 GIGABIT LAN PORT (Wi-Fi NOT INCLUDED)
Wireless Network Card - WIRELESS INTEL® Wi-Fi 6 AX200 2,400Mbps/5GHz, 300Mbps/2.4GHz PCI-E CARD + BT 5.0
USB/Thunderbolt Options - 2 PORT (2 x TYPE A) USB 3.1 PCI-E CARD + STANDARD USB PORTS
Operating System - Windows 10 Home 64 Bit - inc.

Have I missed anything OR is there anything so wildly overspecced that I would be better off replacing with something better?

I was originally looking at 3200Mhz RAM, will I see a major uptick moving to 3600Mhz.

Finally, I have a Freesync capable monitor, I have gone with the 3070 as I understand it is now possible to run Freesync on NVIDIA cards with their latest drivers, but is this really true or just marketing?

Either way, is there any disadvantage in picking the 3070, or should I be swapping to an AMD GPU and if so, what?

Thanks in advance for the assistance.

You should be able to fit a 5900x+3080 in that budget for around 2000 pounds. You would just have to wait for prices to reduce to the msrp.

You are right, I should, I know I should wait.

The problem is I'm just being a spoilt child and wanting it NOW!!! (Please bear in mind I'm over 50 so should know better, but I have a severe case of the "Want One"s.)

Well, if he knows that he is leaving performance on the table and he's okay, let him be. That's a personal choice

Cheaper board with built in wifi 6 and cheaper cooler. An RTX 3080 makes more sense if you want to game at 4K.
