I just built my son a new PC for his birthday. I purchased an MSI Z590 MB so that I can upgrade his CPU in the future. Right now the system has a i7 10700K which is being cooled by a Cooler Master Masterair G200P. I ran a recent stress test and found that the i7 is hitting a temp of about 63F while running at 5340 Mhz. While Playing MS Flight Simulator 2020 CPU temp maxed out at 58F while running at 5120 Mhz. I plan on upgrading the CPU to an I9 11900K in May provided I can find one and I am wondering if, with the number I am see with the current CPU cooler, I should stay with it or look at switching out to an AIO like the NZXT Kraken which would go along with his H510 Elite case.

PC Specs:

Case: NZXT H510 Elite

Proc: i7 10700K

MB: MSI Z590 Pro Wifi

Graphics: RX 580 8GB

Memory: 2x 32GB XPG SPECTRIX D50 4133MHz

CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Masterair G200P

PS: Thermaltake Toughpower GF1 850W

Storage: Toshiba 256GB NMvE for OS drive, Samsung 1TB 870 Evo for Application Drive, Samsung 980 Pro for Gaming Drive, and a WD Red Plus 4TB for data storage

Are those temperatures in Celsius or Fahrenheit? If it's Celsius, those temperatures are pretty good for stress testing.

If noise is concerning you or your son, upgrading cooler will usually help, but if temps and noise are good it might not be worth spending more for the same performance and slightly lower temperatures.

Temps are in Fahrenheit.

Sorry scratch that it was Celsius. I thought I had switch the setting to Fahrenheit before I ran the test.

Then those temps are perfectly fine 🙂 no need to upgrade cooling unless you want different aesthetics, slightly lower noise or slightly lower temperatures. But is it worth the money? With cooling you usually have diminishing returns when spending more.
