I hope this is in the right place, but basically I have a 120GB samsung 830 SSD now. I just bought a crucial m500 240GB msata SSD (the price was so nice, and now I can have 2 regular hard drives). I just got windows they way I want it on the laptop, so what is the best way to image this drive and then restore it on the next one so that eveything just keeps working? Are there any programs you can recommend?

Thanks

Lifted from Tom's hardware (is that allowed?).

It's really easy to do, the site has instructions but basically you just plug in your seconds SSD, launch the program and tell it to clone the drive 1 on drive 2, wait an hour or so, and tada.

All with a free trial version too!

Do you think it would automatically assign the mSATA SSD as the C drive after I remove the old SSD, or would I have to go change all the drive letters manually?

No real idea (never done it) but I seem to remember reading that it was a simple case of unplugging the non-boot drive (the first boot after moving) so the system automatically names what is now the boot drive as C:

Once the new drive is working as boot the "old" drive can be wiped.
