I bought an Alienware r11 with a 10700f, 2070 super, and 16gb ram a few months ago. The 10700f is air cooled and the air cooler is no better then the intel stock cooler i feel like. Sometimes the cpu goes over 100C and when playing cold war, the cpu sits 90 to 100 flat. The oem fans are also so loud I can sometimes barely hear the game audio.  People say that h60 120 aio fits the oem mobo cpu cooler mount but I'm wondering if other cheaper aios with normal lga 1200 mounting hardware fits too. Pls help!

Alienware has made a bunch of cases. Some are pretty standard, some are extremely bizarre and require special stuff to function.  Without knowing what model you have I don’t see how I can give any advice.  As to the included air cooler being effectively a stock cooler I suppose it’s possible but not super likely.  There is a school of thought for new CPUs that says anything under 95c doesn’t matter, which is apparently what the Dell engineers were going with.  Old school says 75°c or less if you want your cpu to last a long time.  It was for older CPUs though so I don’t know which is more right for what cpu.

UPDATE:  found pics of the r11 but only ones with the AIO cpu cooler so I still can’t figure out what you got.  That machine had a very unusual liquid cooled gpu available for it that there are a lot of pics of but the cpu cooling system gets ignored.  The only thing I can see is that the thing has a top mount liquid cooling option because the hoses go up.

Might need a photo.  If the only fan holes are 120mm singles only a 120mm single cooler like the h60 will fit.  Probably any sort glue fan 120mm cooler will fit.  The problem is a 120mm AIO isn’t any more powerful than a standard air cooler.

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

Life is like a bowl of chocolates: there are all these little crinkly paper cups everywhere.
