I am about to get the suite installed across both rigs, but Im setting up one at home and one at the office.  Which CPU should I keep at home (where I think Ill do the most editing):

Ryzen 7 1700 @ 4.2ghz w/ 32gb ram

Ryzen 5 3600 @ stock w/ 16gb ram

I can upgrade the CPU as well.  At the office there is an Ryzen 9 3950x rig already that we use mainly for adobe but its getting used to the point we need to offload the b-roll onto other PC's.  Is there a good reason to get a more powerful CPU since my use case will not be heavy sustained workloads but rather, edit 2 hours of b-roll into 1 hour of b-roll for the editor to then do his thing.

Will take all advice.  I wont be doing any afteraffects on my editing so Im assuming GPU is useless in this scenario - just splicing out useless b-roll.

Thank you for your time!

Any users that went from R9 3950X to R9 5950X and think its worth it?  I may use that argument to inherit the 3950X 😉 - Yes this is for money making so budget is...open'ish if that makes sense.
