But can reading from the old posts, softwares like Vray will suffer in Non nvidia cards as Vray uses CUDA?

If the program is cuda only, it won't work at all on amd cards, or not with out a lot of tweaking and work for a conversion layer. Vray doesn't seem to work at all on amd gpus now.

Id really go nvidia here, they are just much better support in the gpu compute market with cuda.

Also blender can use optix which speeds ups renders a good amount.

Hey people, I finaly have to bite the bullet and get myselft a new PC after breaking my savings because Nvidia gave up on me after a driver update.

So basically I will use my pc for 50% of games and 50% of work, which includes CAD, 3D in Sketchup and Rendering in vray mostly. Along with a bit of Blender and Cycles + Evee.

I know Vray has an advantage with Nvidia Cards, is there any advantage in using Radeon Cards?

If i get an Nvidia, I will probably get an 3070 or 3080, but i kinda want to stay away from Nvidia after seeing where it's all going recently.

If you like 3080 and wanted something similar, go for XFX’s Radeon 6800xt. Basically competes with RTX 3080 and one of the top choices for now

It is selling $1049 right now but there is places where you can find it for a cheaper price.

There will be slight worse result compared to team green, but otherwise it is fine. Gaming is definitely fine for this card as I have not seen any problems with this card and even sometimes outplays 3080

Blender with the 6800XT is nowhere near the 3000 series in blender and cycles, DO NOT GET, the CUDA cores in nvidia products are industry standard unfortunately

That unfortunately is a rather large problem. For creative work there's a pretty heftydisadvantage...

Yep. You have to be prepared for the suffering in vray

And never expect to play in ray tracing for the 6800 xt as AMD ray tracings suck

Ok thanks for the clarification, marking this as the solution 🙂
