Internet Speed really slow

My internet has always been fine but lately it has been extremely slow even when there is only 1 device connected 

 

I can't watch YouTube videos of do any online gaming without connection errors 

download speeds are also less than 500kb/s

 it might be something the isp will need to look at. i know where i am we had to get them to replace a burned out connection at the node itself. also if you are using the routers built in wifi you might need to tinker with some settings due to a firmware update. had that happen on my main network since it uses the isp provided modem/router.

There could be a million things to cause this, but I encourage you to start with the cheapest component first: the cable.  I once had a network slow down caused by a bad cable.  I always assumed that the CAT cables it was either full speed or no connection if they have damage.  I was wrong, it was forcing my gigabit port to be recognized as only a 10 mb connection.
