So I have a Tecware Phantom 87 RGB Backlit Brown Switch Mechanical Keyboard that I got for my birthday a few years back. It's been very good, until a couple months ago and today.

A couple months ago, my N key started being unresponsive until I pushed it down very hard and then it worked for a couple weeks. To this day, it is less unresponsive but only 50% of the time, which still bugs me. Now a few weeks ago, my Y key started to do the same thing, but not as bad as the N key.

But here's the odd part. Just today, my left Ctrl key started to become unresponsive, and as of now, it rarely registers the press, unless I ridiculously press it hard enough.

So is it a switch problem under the keys, or is it internal like on the PCB/hardware thing underneath?

And it it fixable?

Edit: If you're asking, no I do not always press it super hard. I've been quite gentle with them.

sounds like a PCB problem to me, not a switch problem since its happening to less used keys like the Control. Sadly, will be best to replace it rather than disassemble the board and try and see if you can figure it out.

Seems like a common issue according to the top review of that keyboard on amazon. It is a hot swap keyboard and they were able to fix it by replacing the switch.

With the help of my dad removing the old switches, I managed to install new ones from the extra switches provided by Tecware in the box.

Thanks for the help guys.
