I am running windows 10 and EVGA geforece gtx 1660 6GB model and just wanted some confirmation. I watched on both MSI afterburner and Precision 1 that the fan curve i custom adjusted only came on when the software was opened up..if it wasnt started up then it would just make the GPU fans not spin at all. Is it always required that the software be loaded up for it to have the fan curve activated or is there a way for it to run in the background without having to remember to start the program up. I did check the "start on OS" for MSI afterburner (only software i have as i uninstalled precision 1). Just want to make sure that it does control the fans and not overheat. As far as i can tell is my MB does not have GPU fan control.

I think the "start on OS" is just going to be the best thing for now but just wanted to make sure it is the correct way of going about this.

thanks in advance for all help

Maybe ensure the service runs at startup (if there IS a service for that program), and add it as a scheduled task. There might be some aspect of the software (a startup command or switch) to be started with specific curve, rather than default. I've not used this software, so am basically treating it as a generic program.
