Problem with Samsung Odyssey G7: Slow Alt-Tabbing with 10bit color

Go to solution Solved by SolarNova,

It could be the DSC being enabled and disabled as needed.

DP 1.4 cant handle 240hz 10bit 1440p without DSC. But running 8bit it can do it without.

if ur not using HDR, u dont really need 10bit, the majority SDR games run 8 bit color.

So I've been using my Odyssey G7 for a while now and I just accepted the fact that this display would flash black when alt-tabbing out of a fullscreen app. However, I switched to 8bit color and this stopped happening. Why does 10bit cause the display to disconnect/reconnect when alt-tabbing??

Also, HDR/local dimming/dynamic brightness is all disabled and I tried multiple combinations of gsync on for fullscreen & windowed or just windowed, etc. The only thing that fixes this issue is switching to 8bit color.

Is there a difference between 10bit and 8bit if I'm not using HDR? Because so far I don't see anything.
