pc not working-need help!

i have recently had an issue where my pc would not turn on at all but the motherboard lights would turn on-i read some forums and they said it was a psu issue so i took a 250 w psu out of a prebuilt and plugged the 24 pin and 4 pin into my mobo (i removed my gpu beforehand) and it turned on, i then assumed it was a power supply issue and purchased a corsair tx550 and when i plugged that in the motherboard lights didnt turn on at all,i plugged in the 24 pin and 4 pin of the 250w prebuilt psu and it turned straight on.I am really confused.Any help?

Mobo:Msi z87m gaming

CPU:i5 4670k

GPU(not plugged in while troube shooting)-msi gtx 770(factory overclocked)

case:aerocool cylon rgb

New psu:Corsair TX 550(semi modular)

old psu:Aerocool strike x 800 w semi modular

Are you getting any motherboard error codes or beeps?

When i plug in the 250 w psu and it manages to boot into bios it shows code 67 but when it doesent turn on with 250 w it shows code a6
