Should I get 32 GB?

Nate.

I currently have 16 GB of RAM. I have the chance to get another 16 GB. Is it worth it?

Build:

  • CPU: AMD 3700x
  • Cooler: Hyper 212 EVO RGB
  • Motherboard: MSI x570 tomahawk wifi
  • Memory: Teamforce Delta RGB DDR4-3000 16 GB
  • Graphics Card: EVGA 1660 SC ULTRA
  • Case: Fractal Design Meshify C
  • PSU: Fractal Design Ion 660w
  • OS: Win 10 Pro
  • Case fans: Sickleflow 120 RGB (3-pack)

Nothing I say is guaranteed to be correct, please remember this. I'm still learning every day.

Feedback is appreciated!

(in other words i can say stupid stuff so double check what i say)

That's completely up to you, and it's something we can't really help you decide without any information regarding your usage. Is 16GB too low for what you do now? Have you ever run out of memory?

It depends to what you're doing within your unit.

1. Are you just doing gaming and a li'l bit of productivity/school works? 16 GB is already a lot for that.

2. Or perhaps doing gaming and intensive productivity stuff like Solidworks, simulation-machine learning things, ~100 tabs of Chrome, etc.? You may want to go for a 32 GB and beyond then.

I did. I like to waste money and it looks good. Did back with ddr3 as well when it was real expensive. Then put water blocks on them. You only live once, might as well ball out.
