Hi

I happened across a 5950x at Microcenter. There is plenty of info about ram speeds with regards to gaming fps.  My question is, how important is ram speed / latency for multi threaded workstation use? I'm talking video processing, CPU 3D rendering, GPU rendering (the Redshift kind, not the real time kind), and compiling code (gaming a bonus but not a priority). My sense from research is that people feel that speed / latency doesn't really matter that much for these use cases, capacity is more important. However I've also read that for Threadripper / Epic etc, fast ram is advisable to support the levels of multithreading those platforms are capable of.

Since 5950x is a bit of a middle man between desktop / proper workstation class, curious what the thoughts are on this. I have 64 gigs of 3000mz ram from my previous build. Should I fork out for new ram?

Thanks!
