So yesterday Planetside 2 got a new patch and I wanted to play. But my fps in game was locked to 60fps, even though my monitor was running at 75Hz, my overclocking utility was also set to 75 fps. I have tried toggling in game settings such as Vsync and Smoothing, but it changes nothing.

So I wake up today, update my graphics drivers and try to play the game again. Except now there's a completely different problem. Instead of being locked to 60fps, my fps is now locked to the maximum. I'm getting like 140fps and no matter what I try, I cannot get it to sync with my monitor. Once again I double and triple checked all of my settings in game and out of game. But nothing seems to work.

Now some of you may say to just keep it at max fps, who cares. Well the coil whine is pretty extreme, it also causes my fans to ramp up to like 80%. So it is just very annoying in general. Someone please help me fix this shit.

I'm sorry. Was checking your HWBot links in your profile. I only see 3Dmark links there?

Should we join Warp9-systems instead?

If you're into benching, try NVidia Inspector. This might help with your gaming FPS deal too.

I've got 3D Mark links cause HWBot does not compare exact system specs, only 1 single component. So lets say you check scores for a 1060, it will show you scores obtained with 3770k's and Threadrippers all in 1 scoreboard, kinda pointless. Not to mention HWBot allows LOD tweaks and other tweaks that is arguably cheating.

I'm looking at this Nvidia Inspector program. I have not downloaded it yet but from videos it seems like it has a lot of options that you can tweak. Are there any settings that you would recommend I try changing?

LOD tweaks are only good for legacy benchmarks, newer 3Dmarks will not give a valid score with these alterations (and other tweaks). But no, this is not considered cheating in the competitive benchmarking world.

It's a 3D benchmark. Cpu can differ but the video card is the same, however you can orginize the submissions by cooling type used which makes a big difference.

Fastest RTX 2060 (TU106 core) Aquamark in the world. (LOD is built into the wrapper)

Full W7 x64 OS, liquid cooled 5.2ghz 8700K memory at 4000mhz 16s.

This bench (Aquamark) should be run on stripped (Lite or Tiny) XP 32 bit all services off, posted maybe in safe or diagnostic mode LOD rock bottom, probably get this score well over 500K.

I would try and set the v-sync in NVinspector and see if it sets in. If not for that benchmark or game, try it in the global setting instead.
