As far as I'm aware, there's usually something written below "iPhone", something like "Designed by Apple in California   Made in China". However, I'm neither an iPhone person nor can I really evalutate the legitimacy of an ebay listing.

Looks fine.

It's not "way too cheap", it's an auction. Pretty common to put a start price of $1 and let people raise it to the actual market price. 

On eBay really interested people will typically only put their bid right at the end.

If the link you put is correct, DO NOT PURCHASE!! Look at the title: "APPLE IPHONE Xs MAX 256GB SPACE GRAY BOX NO DEVICE OR ACCESSORIES". It is just an iPhone box, not a phone. Its a common scam trick.

That's not what it was, if you look the at the page a little better the auction is ended and the "box only" thing is ebay showing you a "similar listing" (lol...)
