100% Fresh Windows 10 Home x64 Install, most of the time black screens for a moment then recovery, Worst case freezing, Black Screen, then recovery. I fixed this by using DDU and installing the latest GPU Drivers, Now after a windows update over night the problem has come back and is happening more often then last time and i was running a whole wee with NO issues.

 

The only thing i have done differently with this fresh OS is install another 1Tb NVMe M.2 in the second slot next to my original one.

 

CPU: i9 9900K
RAM: 64 Gig, Dual-Channel, DDR4 3200Mhz
MotherBoard: Asus ROG Maximus XI Formula
GPU: Gigabyte RTX 2080
Storage: 1Tb Samsung 970 EVO x2, Samsung 500Gb 850 EVO SSD
PSU: EVGA SuperNova 750Watt

Code 117 normally means an issue with the gpu or the nvidia drivers. It would be worth your while to do a full reinstall of your drivers. Make sure to get a whql driver.

 

If that doesnt work then maybe you have an issue with your gpu.

I sadly have already done this and yes over the dozens of posts i read before coming here i do know it has something to do with my GPU but why now of all things? I reformat ever 6 - 12 months for the fun of it and never have an issue until this time came around and the only difference with my build is an extra NVMe M.2 Drive, Which i assumed may have had something to do with it but clearly not regarding the Error Code 117, 100% Fresh Drivers are being used right now and this did not come back until a TINY Windows Update over night, Which concerns me..

Oddly enough right now it has not happened for 3 hours, But for all i know before or by the time i post this it could happen O_O
