WHEA-Logger Event 18

Good evening all,

 

After getting multiple WHEA logger event 18 shutdowns, I took to the web to find a solution. After many, many threads of its the cpu gone faulty, check memory OC, cpu OC, gpu OC, motherboard faulty, etc. etc. I found a solution that worked for me and thus far I have not seen any post suggesting it, perhaps it will help any one that still has this issue and is looking for alternatives.

 

All I did was perform 3 steps:

1. Performed a system file check

    sfc /scannow

2. Ran deployment imaging servicing

DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth

There is a space between image and the /

3. Restart computer

 

This is all that I ended up needing. Again, it may or may not work for you, but before you decided to spend your hard earned money on hardware, try this.
