Welcome to the forums!!!

If you really need to upgrade on that limited budget, get the highest supported CPU that you can fit with the motherboard you are using (which was not included in the post). Otherwise, I'd personally set aside/save money to put to put together a new platform (by new, you can go the used route for parts).

The A8-6600K will be using DDR3. Supported memory is up to DDR3-1866.

If it is an itx motherboard what CPU would you recommend

I can't really tell you until you have the motherboard make and model so we can give an accurate answer. I know it'll be a socket FM2 but it varies by motherboards.

ITX is just the layout and size of the motherboard. Just like how there is ATX, mATX, E-ATX, EE-ATX.

No worries, the highest processor you can put in this motherboard (provided that the BIOS is on the latest BIOS revision) is an A10-8750.

Wrong Processor, do NOT purchase A10-8750.

So would my power supply work for all my components including the A10 8750 or would I need a new power supply

My bad, you have an A8-6600K, which is Socket FM2, that A10-8750 is Socket FM2+, I overlooked that and the A10-8750 won't work with the motherboard. According to the list for Socket FM2 (which is a completely different than what I posted a photo of earlier, which were FM2+ as they have two charts on the motherboard's support document), you can put a A10-6800K in. This has the same wattage as your A8-6600K so your power supply should handle this just fine.

The only thing I would advise is do not go crazy spending money on a newer processor for this motherboard, as after that point, you're wasting money and I would rather advise you save the money to put to a new platform (DDR4, AMD Ryzen CPU and motherboard).
