Hey

I have just got this new RAM: F4-4000C18Q-32GTZR, from G.Skill. I have a Asus ROG Maximus xi hero.

The RAM is supported at that speed on the motherboard.

I can apply it to my pc and it boots up just fine.

I then turn the pc off, and cut the power to the pc.

Next time I turn it on, it turns on for 2 sec, then shuts down and then boots up again after 5 sec.
It is really annoying because the boot time is slow.

Am I doing something wrong or? Please help.

This is actually pretty normal. All my ROG boards seem to do this on both Intel and AMD platforms.

Come to the conclusion that when running XMP, the board will memory train during cold post before booting full XMP speeds, so it restarts. Sometimes, mine will restart 3 times and then post.

There is nothing to do, so you can get the motherboard to run the XMP profile at first boot? So the motherboard don’t have to restart twice.

Nothing you can do.

On cold boot, the motherboard memory trains.

On a restart, will post without memory training.

My sticks are 4267mhz and do not post straight from XMP profile. I do have to intervene.

I'm running a Maximus X Hero and 8700K. I thought the same thing and inquired with one of the top 30 overclockers in the world just to be sure.

Okay, thanks for your feedback.

I guess I have to get used to my computer “boots twice”.

Thanks again
