i need an external disc drive for some old game discs, OS installs, blu-ray movies, and old dvds. prefferably USB 3.0 if availible. i have no need for burning.

 

what would be a recommended product for these options?

I'm not too sure if USB 3.0 will make it much faster as I'm pretty sure its limited to the speed of the disc drive (I think its significantly slower?)

No blu-ray functionality though. External blu-ray drives go for around $90

There is no external optical USB 3 drives. Stuck with USB 2 unless you make your own but then again I doubt the optical disk interface is any faster than 2.0.

I roll with sigs off so I have no idea what you're advertising.

I think whatever is cheapest that meets your needs. If your not burning there is less variables.

 

Also if your not using it all the time then it won't bother you so much if its slow or noisy.
